Configuring Voice Options in Awaz.ai

Customize your Awaz.ai voice settings by selecting a voice, adjusting speech behavior, and enabling call settings that help create a more natural AI call experience.

Personalize Your AI Agent’s Voice with Awaz.ai

Awaz.ai allows you to customize how your AI agent sounds and responds during calls. You can choose from the default voices available in the platform, preview each voice before selecting it, or add a new voice directly from the public ElevenLabs voice library.

You can also fine-tune voice behavior, including speed, volume, responsiveness, interruption sensitivity, silence handling, boosted keywords, pronunciation, and ambient background sounds.

These settings help you create a more natural and consistent call experience for customer service, lead generation, appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and other voice AI workflows.

With Awaz.ai, you can:

✔ Adjust tone, speed, volume, and responsiveness
✔ Configure interruption sensitivity and silence handling

Step 1: Navigate to Voice Settings in Agent Configuration

To access Voice Settings, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Awaz.ai: www.awaz.ai

  2. Log into your account and navigate to the Agents section.

  3. Select an existing agent or create a new agent.

  4. Click "Edit" and go to the Settings tab.

  5. Find the Voice Settings panel on the right-hand side.

💡 Tip: The Voice Settings panel lets you tweak how the AI sounds, responds, and adapts to conversations.


Step 2: Select a Voice Option & Customize Settings

🔹 Choosing a Voice

Awaz.ai provides a selection of default AI voices that you can use for your agent. These voices are available inside the Select Voice window.

To choose a voice:

  1. Open the Select Voice field from the agent settings.

  2. Browse the available default voices.

  3. Click the play button beside a voice to hear a preview.

  4. Click the voice name to select it.

The available voices are now connected directly to the public ElevenLabs voice library.

Users can preview each voice and select the one that best fits their agent’s tone, audience, and use case.

💡 Tip: Before selecting a voice, listen to a few previews to compare clarity, pacing, tone, and how natural the voice sounds for your expected call type.

Adding a Voice from ElevenLabs

If you want to use a voice that is not already available in the default list, you can add a voice directly from ElevenLabs.

To add a voice:

  1. Open the Select Voice window.

  2. Click the Add Voice tab at the top.

  3. Search for the voice name from the public ElevenLabs library.

  4. Add the voice to your available voice options.

  5. Return to the voice list and select the added voice.

This allows you to expand your available voice options while keeping the setup process inside Awaz.ai.

🔹 Adjusting Voice Settings

You can fine-tune the AI’s voice with multiple sliders:

Tone of Voice – Adjust between Calm → Emotional
Voice Speed – Modify speed from Slow → Fast
Voice Volume – Set the loudness level
Responsiveness – Control how fast the AI processes speech
Interruption Sensitivity – Adjust how the AI handles user interruptions

Max Call Duration – Set the maximum call length before automatically ending

Ring Duration – Control how long the call rings before timing out if unanswered

💡 Tip: If the AI interacts too quickly, lower the Responsiveness setting.

🔹 Enabling Backchannel, Silence Settings & Boosted Keywords

For a more natural and efficient AI conversation, users can configure:

Backchanneling: Enables the AI to use phrases like "uh-huh" or "yeah" to signal active listening.
End Call After Silence: Automatically ends the call if the user remains silent beyond a set duration (minimum 10 seconds).
Boosted Keywords: Allows users to input specific names, brands, or terms to ensure they are accurately recognized and transcribed.

Pronunciation: Define how specific words, names, or phrases should be pronounced using IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), to ensure accurate spoken output.

💡 Tip: Use Boosted Keywords for industry-specific terms, company names, or frequently mentioned words to enhance AI transcription accuracy.

🔹 Adding Ambient Sounds for Realism

To enhance call realism, users has the options to choose background noise:

🎵 Coffee Shop – Light café chatter
🎤 Convention Hall – Low crowd murmurs
🌿 Summer Outdoor – Gentle outdoor sounds
🏔 Mountain Outdoor – Subtle nature ambiance
📡 Static Noise – Light telephone static

💡 Tip: If you want calls to sound like they’re happening in an office or real-world setting, ambient noise makes a difference!
