How Your Clients See the Signup Experience (Whitelabel Client's Flow)

Understand how your customized branding, plan settings, and domain appear during your client’s signup flow.

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

Once you’ve set up your White Label environment in Awaz.ai, your clients will be able to sign up via a personalized link that reflects your branding, plan configuration, and pricing. This article walks you through what that signup experience looks like from your client’s perspective — and how your settings directly shape it.

By the end of this guide, you’ll understand:

✔ What branding your clients will see during signup
✔ How pricing plans, trials, and credits are displayed
✔ What changes when you connect your own domain
✔ Where to preview the signup flow

Step 1 – Your Client’s Signup Link

Each Whitelabel account has a unique signup URL. Until your custom domain is connected, this will follow the format:

https://your-subdomain.awaz.ai/

This is the link your clients will use to sign up under your White Label platform. However, once you connect your own domain, the signup URL will update to reflect your custom branding (e.g., https://app.yourbrand.com).

🔧 How to Connect Your Custom Domain

To update this:

  1. In your Awaz.ai dashboard, go to Whitelabel in the sidebar.

  2. Click on the Appearance tab.

  3. Click Connect Your Domain.

  4. Type your preferred domain or subdomain and click Publish.

⚠️ You now need to create a DNS record with your domain provider.

🔑 Setting up the DNS

  1. Log in to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare).

  2. Navigate to DNS Settings.

  3. Create a new CNAME record using:

    • Name: As shown in the Awaz.ai setup screen (The Record: yourdomain.com / app.yourdomain.com)

    • Value/Target: The destination value listed by Awaz.ai (The Target: app.awaz.ai)

⏳ Your domain should then be connected within 24–48 hours.

💡 Tip: We strongly recommend using a subdomain (e.g., app.yourbrand.com) instead of your root domain to avoid conflicting with your main website.

📝 Note: The “awaz.ai” domain you see in the Appearance tab is simply a default placeholder. Once your custom domain is connected, you can ignore this and use your branded link for all client signups.

🔑 Optional: Hide "Awaz" Traces in DNS

(Advanced Whitelabeling)

By default, most Whitelabel users connect their domain using a CNAME record, which points to Awaz’s infrastructure while displaying your brand’s domain on the frontend.

However, some users prefer removing all visible traces of "Awaz" from DNS lookups, especially if they want a more discreet or agency-facing setup.

🛠️ Solution: Use an A Record Instead of CNAME

If you’d like to minimize public DNS traces referencing Awaz:

  1. Use an A Record instead of a CNAME

  2. Point your domain or subdomain to the IP address:
    54.94.9.119

This will hide the “awaz” reference in DNS tools (like whois, dig, or dnschecker.org), and your clients will only see your domain throughout their experience.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • You can only use either an A Record or a CNAME, not both.

  • A Record setups are ideal for advanced users comfortable with DNS configuration.

  • Some DNS traces (like nameservers or upstream IP providers) may still show indirect infrastructure — this is normal and expected.

✅ Will My Clients See “Awaz” Anywhere?

It depends on your DNS setup:

  • If you’re using an A Record:
Your clients will not see any references to “Awaz”—your custom domain is used throughout, and DNS lookups will not reveal Awaz infrastructure.

  • If you’re using a CNAME:
Some advanced users (e.g., using DNS lookup tools) may see “awaz” in the DNS chain. However, this is not visible in the UI or client-facing experience.

Regardless of your setup:

  • Clients will see your custom domain during signup and throughout the platform

Step 2 – What Your Clients Will See

When your clients access the signup page through your connected domain, they’ll see a fully branded experience tailored to your Whitelabel settings.

🔹 Your Brand Identity

  • Your logo and platform name (from Appearance settings)

  • Your color scheme applied to buttons and interface areas

  • Your custom domain URL (if connected)

These reflect what you’ve customized in White Label > Appearance.

🔹 Your Plan Details

If you’ve created one or more plans under Whitelabel > Plans, your clients will see:

  • The Plan Title and Plan Description

  • Monthly or Annual recurring price

  • Plan description features (like AI agent/user limits)

  • Knowledge File pricing (if you included any)

💡 Note: Awaz.ai does not charge Whitelabel users for Knowledge Base uploads. Instead, Whitelabel users are billed directly by Retell based on usage (similar to per-minute call rates). You can include a custom price in your plans to cover this cost when billing your own clients.

🔹 Optional Signup Settings

Depending on what you configured in the Plans section, your signup screen may also show:

  • ✅ A Free Trial Header during sign-up (if enabled)

  • 💳 A Credit Card Details for Payment Method section (if enabled)

  • 🎁 Display of Free Credits included on sign-up (if any)

These options help control how much friction or flexibility new users face when getting started.

Step 3 – After Signup

Once your client completes the signup:

  • They’ll be redirected to your customized dashboard

  • All usage, billing, and branding will reflect your White Label setup

  • The plan they selected will determine their subscription behavior moving forward

💡 Quick Tip

Your client-facing signup screen is a live reflection of the settings you define under Whitelabel > Appearance and Whitelabel > Plans. Be sure to review both to ensure everything aligns with your brand and pricing strategy.
